We are very proud to introduce to you our 2010 Rodeo Team Queen, Rebecca Foster!

Becca has been a student of Angelsong’s for several years.  She lives in Shawnee , OK and is the daughter of Stephen and Stephanie Foster, and the granddaughter of Steve and Brenda Foster of Chandler ; and Kenn and Sandy Cousins of Meeker.  She is 13 yrs old, and attends Shawnee Middle School where she is a Mat Maid and plays basketball. She is also a part of Shawnee ’s Student Council, FCA and Drama Club; and is a current member of the NBHA and the Chandler Round Up Club.

The honor of being Angelsong Ministries Rodeo Team Queen is far different than most other organizations.  Our Queen is not determined by riding contests, ticket sales, or votes.  Our choice each year is based on the heart, the motivation, the life, and the walk of the individual. Becca was chosen as our Queen based on several areas, but I want you to read a small part of the essay she submitted to be considered for our Queen.

“I would like to represent Angelsong Ministries as rodeo queen because the ministry has done so much for me . Angelsong opened my eyes to Jesus Christ. They taught me that barrel racing isn’t about the money or the buckles, it’s about running for the glory of God. I want to help others find that glory. It’s an amazing feeling to run when you know you have Jesus Christ riding with you, one hand on the reins and one hand on your heart. Angelsong gave that feeling to me . I want to pass on what I have learned to others. I love working with people and horses.  Angelsong does so many great things for people and I would love to be a part of that.  Angelsong isn’t about who has the fastest horse or who can ride the best, it’s about teaching others to ride, but to ride for the right reasons, Jesus Christ. Angelsong helped change my life and now I think the Lord is telling me that it is my turn to change so me one’s life. Representing Angelsong as rodeo queen would me an so much to me , not because I get a fancy crown, but because I would get to help change a life…I want to be part of the team that works together and brings Jesus into a family. I want to spread the love and word of Jesus Christ…” – Rebecca Foster
